Forever in blue jeans

Today was a rough one. Work wise, I’m just exhausted. It is truly draining me mentally and that draining is showing itself with my energy levels. Hoping that this dies down some with our launch tomorrow. I would have walked before work this morning, but with the rain, that wasn’t possible. Once work was done, my ass was parked on the couch reading a book. It’s chilly now, which sucks, and isn’t making me motivated to leave the house.

The boy came home from golfing 18 holes and said that he would go with me on the walk tonight. I’m not going to turn that one down. We were off on our normal path and he brought his fountain pop with us. (not gonna question the why there). We were under 20 min mile, so the timing is getting faster. After a week in, this makes me happy. I do need to find more of a routine…that can be next week’s project.

Through conversation on our walk, I brought up when he pulled into the driveway. I can always tell when this kid comes home, because I can hear his music in the car. I get a kick out of it because it isn’t the same music every time. He truly does have an ear for music and likes ALL MUSIC. Today, he pulled up blasting some Neil Diamond, Forever in Blue Jeans.

I asked him why he liked Neil (cause in our family, Neil is a God thanks to Grandma). He said he’s a sex machine and is the GOAT. Pure sex. HMMMM, ok? I don’t think that he is that, but like I said, in our family, you have to enjoy Neil. To get a rise out of him, I asked, “Who is better, Kenny or Neil?” His response was Neil. I personally think that Kenny is a better song writer and NOT being sex, makes him better. We passed a stranger and he asked her. She also thought Neil.

It’s debates like these that really get me going. I’m not sure why, but I love them. It makes you think about your opinion and I like to challenge those opinions. We may NOT agree, but I will still respect your opinion.

While I don’t think Neil is the GOAT, I do like some songs and Cracklin’ Rose is my favorite Neal song (turns out, my son’s too).
