Whelp, the crappy weather has returned and walking outside was not an option today. After having a sleep score of 91 (best in over 2 months), I had a fantastic day of work and cursed the thought of the treadmill. Being the creative being that I am, I convinced the daughter to come with me to the local Community Center to do some laps.
I should have checked the distance of the track or read the signs posted there or something instead of depending on the trusted Apple Watch before we embarked on our trek. Alas, I did not (I’ll get to that later).
The people watching was amazing as we walked high above them at the CC. Kids playing basketball, couple pickle ball league (I would dominate at that sport) and random other people. The daughter and I enjoyed our conversation and loved the watching. Having new scenery to focus on, rather than going round and round, was enjoyable to say the least. I was able to prove to the daughter that she does indeed, walk with her arms flailing all about as she would randomly hit me. I used the term, “Stay in your lane” about 8 times. It was proof that she does it on our outside walk. I think she secretly just wants to hold her Mama’s hand.
We did, according to my watch, 2.1 miles in 40 minutes. At the same time as watching the watch, I counted our laps. We did 20 laps. On our last lap, we looked up the distance of the track, and it was indeed, 8 laps makes 1 mile. Without knowing, or being naive about it, we did 2.5 miles in 40 minutes. We were hauling ass. (sarcasm intended).
