What do you do or how do you handle talking about yourself? Why is it that the one person you know the best in this world (YOU) is the hardest to talk about? I’ve struggled with this concept for years. Yes, years. Being in corporate America, it’s expected to write about yourself and your accomplishments each quarter and then wait for the yearly review. Then you get judged about how you wrote about yourself.
I know this is out of the blue to write about, but for real this has been my issue today. “Write something about yourself.” Should be easy enough, but yeah, it isn’t. It’s challenging because you don’t want to be judged for how you perceive yourself. But will anyone really judge you? Most likely not. But the worry is still there, preventing you from just blubbering about how awesome you think YOU are.
”Verbally” vomiting on here has helped me realize that if you just do it, you can’t go wrong. I’m an awesome soul with a lot of quirks and that’s pretty darned perfect.
The walk tonight was also pretty amazing with the daughter. We did the full 2 miles under 40 minutes. I’ve realized that my kid has some new quirks that I never noticed before we started walking. Like she randomly will put her hands in her pocket (who the hell does that when your bodies motion is to move them) or she says random words or mixes random words to make one word (my mind was blown on this one too and it’s funny as hell). These are pretty amazing quirks that I hope she writes about herself someday and embraces as her awesomeness.
